Dad's sense of humor appeared to us as prominent most at his funeral.  Porter Hodgdon, his son-in-law, always played pranks on Dad and Dad would say, "Porter, some day I will think of some way to get you back."  Well, at Dad's funeral, I, George, was standing behind Irene, Dad's second and last wife when Irene started looking faint.  As I was watching for something to happen to her, she started to collapse to the ground.  I reached my arms under her arms and held her from reaching the ground.  Knowing that Porter was the only person attending who was large and strong enough to help me, I called to him to help.  He rushed to assist me and when he stooped to pick Irene to his arms, his pants ripped from the front all the way to the back belt loop, exposing his underwear to all in attendance.  Later, he told Ann that he was sure glad he changed his underwear for the funeral.  All of his clothes he wore on that day were brand new.  The only thing we could think of was that Dad was laughing in his grave for the way he got back at Porter.  We all believed this to be the case.  God moves in very mysterious ways and I truly believe that He gave Dad this final chance to pay back Dad's joking nemesis.
