NORMAN R. HELIE

Norman R. Helie 90 of 17 Minerva Lane, Keene, NH died at his home on Saturday morning, February 16, 2008 after a brief illness.

He was born in Hanover, NH on September 22, 1917 the son of Oscar and Frieda (?) Helie.

Mr. Helie grew up and attended schools in Keene.  He was a WWII veteran and served with the US Army in the 399th Infantry.  He was employed as a plumbing and heating contractor in the Keene area.

He was a member of the Keene Post 799 VFW, the Keene Council 819 Knights of Columbus, and St. Bernard's Parish.

He enjoyed being with his family, fishing and hunting

He is survived by his wife, Pauline A. (Drouin) Helie; a son Steven Helie of Keene, NH; two daughters, Sandra Gemmell of Spofford, NH and Carolyn Detmer of Portland, TX; a sister Elaine Duquette of Swanzey, NH; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Bernard's Church, 185 Main Street, Keene on Wednesday morning, February 20, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.  Burial  followed in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Family and friends were invited to call at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Veteran's Van Program, c/o Gordon-Bissell Post 4 American Legion, 797 Court Street, Keene, NH 03431.
PAULINE A. HELIE

Pauline A. Helie 91, formerly of Minerva Lane, Keene, NH, died Thursday, August 23 2012, at the Genesis Keene Center, Court Street, Keene, following a period of failing health.

She was born in the Three Rivers area of Canada on December 11, 1920, the daughter of Anastos and Alice Drouin. A resident of Keene for most of her life, she was a 1940 graduate of Keene High School.

Mrs. Helie worked for many years with the MPB Corporation in Keene. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Keene, and a longtime member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne Sodality. She was also a member of the VFW Post #799 Auxiliary in Keene.

She was an avid vegetable and floral gardener and enjoyed playing cards including pitch, whist and poker. She especially enjoyed dancing to the big band music

Survivors include her children; Steven N. Helie of Keene, Sandra P. Gemmell and her husband, Alex, of Keene, Carolyn P. Detmer and her husband, John, of Taft, TX, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Frank Drouin of Schenectady, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband of 67 years, Norman R. Helie, died February 16, 2008. She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter and five sisters.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 10:30AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at St. Bernard Church, Keene. Please use the ramp-side entrance of the church.

The Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene is assisting the family with the arrangements.
